About Edward
A writer and a scholar, or so I tell myself
A Brief History
Hello! As you might have guessed, my name is Edward Cookley. I’m an author currently working on my first series of mystery books, centered on the investigations of journalist Arlo Booker.
I was raised in Southington, CT, which I think was a pretty great spot. After high school, I moved to Indiana to attend Purdue University, and I graduated in 2010. I met my wife, Sarah, at Purdue, and we moved to Nashville in 2013. We currently live just outside of Nashville with our children and dogs.
As a kid, I was an avid reader. In fact, I distinctly remember my 5th grade teacher telling my parents I was distracted in class, not because of talking or doodling, but because I hid books beneath my desk. As an adult, I naturally still love reading, and I’ll tackle everything from thriller to horror to sci-fi, and especially since I’ve passed 30, non-fiction.
Writing was a hobby of mine as far back as middle school, but it wasn’t until I graduated from college that I thought being an author was possible.
I finished my first novel that no one has ever read in 2014. Since then, I’ve started a few more, abandoned most, finished a couple, and now I’m working on another.
One of these days I’ll start publishing some books. I hope you’ll stick around and join me. I think 2021 will be the year.
